2020 Frühlingsfest Student Art Competition Form
We will kick off the festival month by highlighting middle and high school students’ talents in our Student Art Competition. The theme for the competition is “Straßenkunst (Street Art) " We will select between 20-30 pieces to be displayed for the month of März (March) in the Goethe-Zentrum auditorium at our Colony Square offices.

​Submissions are due February 19, and we will host a voting event at our offices on March 4.

OR hand-deliver your submission to the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta office at the address above (Hours: Monday – Thursday 10 am – 6 pm, Friday 10 am – 4 pm, or Saturday 10 am – 1 pm).

STEP 4. Wait to hear back about your acceptance/denial. Decisions will be provided via email from outreach@german-institute.org. Please allow this email or check your spam folder regularly. Applications are incomplete and will not be reviewed until STEPS 1-3 are complete. See details below.

STEP 5. Attend the Voting Event on Wednesday, March 4 and the Frühlingsfest on Saturday, March 21. After the announcement of the winners at the festival, students are permitted to take their artwork home with them.

More About Image Submission:

- Email 3-5 JPG images of your piece. By sharing these images, you are granting the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta permission to use the photos on any promotional materials for the Frühlingsfest.

- In the email subject heading please include Artist’s FIRST and LAST name and FRÜHLINGFEST STUDENT ART. i.e: “JOHANN BACH FRÜHLINGFEST STUDENT ART”

Competition Rules
1) Students are asked to submit an original work of art in any medium (jewelry, pottery, glass, painting/drawing, photography, textile/leather, metal, wood, digital media, and mixed media). The minimum size for 2D artwork (painting, drawing, photography, digital media, and mixed media) requested is 11in x 14in.
2) Students currently enrolled in grades 6 – 12 in the state of Georgia are eligible to participate. Homeschooled students are also welcome to participate.
3) Artwork can be mailed or dropped off at our Colony Square location.
4) All artwork must be display ready. All 2D work (painting, drawing, photography, digital media, and mixed media) should be ready to hang with proper clips or attachments, or the artist must supply an easel if necessary. All 3D work must have a stand or display pad if desired.
5) All artwork will be reviewed for appropriate content and a clear connection to the aforementioned theme. The artist will be notified after the review process.
6) Submissions must be received no later than Wednesday, February 19 at 6 pm.
7) Winners will be announced at the Frühlingsfest on March 21, 2020.

Indemnity Agreement
The Goethe-Zentrum is not responsible for any lost or damaged art. Artwork will be released to the artists at the Frühlingsfest following the announcement of winners. Artwork not claimed on this day must be picked up at our office at a coordinated time within 7 days after the festival. We reserve the right to refuse any work that does not meet the submission requirements. We reserve the right to photograph entries for the purpose of documentation, education, and publicity. Artist agrees to allow accepted work to remain with the exhibit until the close of the show. Artist retains copyright.
