The Student Senate application is for all returning students who have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. Students must be in good disciplinary standing and maintain said standing. Students' eligibility to serve as a Thomas Nelson Student Senator will be verified.
Senators are elected in the Spring of each year and serve for one school year beginning in August and ending in May. Vacancies occurring during the academic year will be filled by the SGA President and remaining members of the Student Senate.
Senate meetings are held twice monthly on the Hampton campus with video conferencing to the Historic Triangle campus. Attendance at meetings is mandatory to remain in good standing with the Student Senate. The Student Senate will elect from among its membership a Lead Senator to act as Chair at all Student Senate meetings for the academic year.
The Student Senate consists of fifteen positions:
> Hampton Campus - 12 seats
> Historic Triangle Campus - 3 seats
