2018 MTCES Talent Show Registration
It’s that time of year again; the time we showcase the talents of our student body in our annual Talent Show. The date of this year’s show will be Thursday, February 1st. If there are too many acts for one day, we will extend onto a second day; Friday, February 2nd. If your child(ren) would like to perform, please complete this form by Thursday, January 18th. A list indicating the order of acts and the day on which they will perform will be sent out the week of January 30th.
Special requests for a day or time cannot be accepted unless you have a large group (8 or more students) or someone coming from outside the school (teacher, coach, trainer, etc.) in your act and they need special considerations (the planning committee will work with you to workout these details). Only students from the school should participate in the talent show (special circumstances will be taken into consideration, but permission must be obtained in advance if individuals who are not members of the average daily membership at MTCES will be participating). Acts should last no longer than 5 minutes. If you are planning on attending the Talent Show to see your child(ren)'s performance, please know that occasionally acts cancel and your child may be moved up (earlier) in the performance order sheet. We are not able to shuffle the order of acts or allow acts to re-perform because of audience attendance issues. Additional rules and details apply to performances with recorded music. These are outlined in the last section of this registration. Finally, we cannot allow student acts to utilize the student center projectors; no presentations, slide shows, or movies should be used.
Acts must be ready to present a “preview performance” on Tuesday, January 23rd. Students will be meeting with the Talent Show Committee to quickly run through their act. All performances and applicable media (ex. music) are subject to review for school appropriateness by the Talent Show Committee and / or the MTCES administration and can be turned down if deemed inappropriate for all ages. The preview day will take place during regular school hours. After doing a preview performance for the Talent Show Committee, students are not permitted to change groups (add members or switch to a different performance) or drastically change the content (or style) of the performance. We are not able to provide a schedule or order of performances for the preview day. Acts should come to preview day with all necessary props, music, etc. to run their act.
If your child(ren) are in a group performance, please coordinate with the other parents / leaders of the group so that only one form is submitted per act (we do not want a form per child).
Before you continue, please verify that you have read and understood all guidelines, rules, and regulations laid out in the section above. *
