Thank you for your interest in the proposed bus service. Please note that the final route and timetable for 2026 have now been confirmed. We are now welcoming final applications from families who would like their students to travel on Ryan buses in 2026.
Based on feedback we have received from families we have designed two routes; a North Eastern and Western Route that travel through suburbs along central routes. These routes are provisional only and will only proceed if there is sufficient demand in the areas identified.
Times and stops will be determined when we have final numbers.
Ryan School Bus Service
The School operates a bus service for the exclusive use of Ryan Catholic College students. This service is designed to provide families with safe and reliable transport to and from school. It is not a door to door service but rather a central point from suburbs to school with set pick up and drop off times. This service is provided using two new coaches with state of the art safety and seating for 100 passengers.
Suburbs Serviced
Bus routes, including designated pick-up and drop-off locations, are determined based on passenger demand, safety considerations, and travel efficiency. Routes are reviewed periodically and may be adjusted to reflect changes in demand or operational requirements to ensure the service remains efficient and sustainable.
Eligibility
The bus service is available for students in Year 3 to 12.
*Students in Prep to Year 2 may travel only if accompanied by an older sibling with designated travel responsibility. Approval is granted on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the older student’s age and maturity, travel distance, and local traffic conditions. Families are encouraged to include relevant details in their application for the school’s consideration.
Fees
Allocation of a seat on the school bus service is charged per semester. Once a seat has been assigned to a student, it remains reserved in their name for the duration, irrespective of the frequency of use. This approach ensures capacity is effectively managed and that each student has access to a seat and seatbelt at all times.
Bus service charges are additional to school tuition fees and are billed through the school’s standard fee system. Fees are applied for the full semester only and are non-refundable. Casual use and pro-rata arrangements are not available.

*The bus service fee is capped at $950 per family per semester, based on a single billing account. Where students are billed under separate accounts, each account will be subject to the standard fee structure. This ensures the service remains equitable and sustainable for all families. NOTE: Where there are outstanding school fees a seat may not be offered.
Conduct
By using the service, families acknowledge that both parents/guardians and students have read and understood the Bus Code of Conduct and agree to comply with its requirements. Any breach of the Code that compromises passenger safety or causes damage to the bus may result in suspension or permanent withdrawal of access to the service.
Safety
Both Ryan Coaches are less than 2 years old and are regularly maintained and fitted with all required safety features, including seat belts for every passenger.
We also offer a free Passenger App, Transportme™ for Ryan Bus Students and their Parents/Caregivers. In an effort to improve students safety, Ryan Catholic College has invested in software that allows Parents and the School to track the movements of the Ryan Catholic College Bus services. The Transportme™ App is an electronic passenger management system that allows you to set a stop as your favourite, track the bus in real time and receive a free push notification letting you know if it is on time or has been delayed.
Students will be given a Smartcard (Bus Pass) which they must use to tap on and off the bus daily. Using the Unique ID on the smart card, Parents can download an App to live track the bus on its route. Using this App Parents will have real time access to the location of the bus and the stops on that route, and importantly delays in the service. The App and its basic functions including live tracking of the bus on the chosen route is free.
There is also a Premium Subscription available which attracts a monthly fee (not operated by Ryan), this allows parents to see when your child taps on or off a bus, if your child does not tap on or off a bus, and what location a child has disembarked at. Please note that the App and the Premium Subscription are operated by an external provider are opt-in. Parents are not required to download the software for your child to continue using the Ryan Catholic College Bus service.
Students are required to present their Smartcard (Bus Pass) every day to tap on and off the bus. The first card will be provided to students free of charge. Any subsequent lost or damaged cards will incur a $20 replacement fee. Your student's Smartcard will be provided to their respective Bus Driver who will instruct them in how to use it.
