SOES Youth Code Jam Registration Form
Youth Code Jam provides innovative, impactful and family-focused out of school time, hands-on computing programs for K-12 students.
About this Event:
Join us for a free, semi-unstructured, individualized-learning, creativity-inspiring experience for K-12 youth. No experience required! There is no strict agenda. There will be multiple creative coding stations.
When students arrive, they will be free to choose where they want to spend their time. This gives your child the opportunity to work on the projects he or she finds personally interesting. Some kids will float around, spending time at many stations and working on different challenges, while others will choose to spend the majority of their time working on one project. We welcome this sort of self-directed learning. Each station will have volunteer instructors and assistants to guide you in how to use the tool, and then to support your student as he or she thinks creatively and starts coding.
*Please note that an adult (preferably a parent or grandparent) must stay with your child during this event. This is a collaborative experience and a chance to connect with your child around digital technology. We promise parents will have fun, too.
