Thank you for your interest in Small Business For America's Future North Carolina. Small Business for America’s Future North Carolina chapter's focus is on understanding the needs of small businesses and educating policymakers on those needs.
North Carolina's 840,000 small businesses, 98% of all businesses, are the state’s economic engine, employing 1.6 million people. We are the financial foundation for our state.
As North Carolina Business owners, we are:
Sounding the Alarm
Adding uncertainty to our economic situation is that our free-market system is under unprecedented stress from political actors. When political actors undermine voting rights to try to manipulate electoral outcomes or pick economic winners and losers based on which corporations align with their political agenda – that sends a chill through our economy, the business community, and Wall Street, and it threatens our collective prosperity.
Identifying Threats to our Bottom Line
North Carolina small business community must add its voice to the fight to preserve our economic security and the democratic system that has fostered its economic success.
- Strengthening our democracy doesn’t just ensure the stability of our current economy; it fuels economic growth and helps communities build wealth.
- Without a strong democracy and leaders who are accountable to their constituents, small businesses will not be able to advocate for the issues that matter most to their prosperity: a level playing field with large corporations.
Utilizing our Trusted Voice
We are the engine of economic stability and growth in our community; we must now be that engine to preserve our Democracy. Join with hundreds of small business owners, like yourself, who agree now more than ever that we must raise our voices on these basic issues and agree to implement the following:
- No matter what your zip code, who you vote for, or whether you are our customers, one thing is clear: small businesses value the right to vote and believe that all eligible Americans should have fair and safe access to this fundamental right
- Small businesses support offering voting options and making voting more accessible and secure, so their employees can participate in our democracy while supporting our economy
As our work moves forward, we want to make sure that those who are interested in specific issue areas have an opportunity to get engaged.
We appreciate your commitment to getting involved and look forward to working with you and your business to help the small business community in North Carolina.
