Faces of Trauma Benefit Concert
CommUNITY Arts STL's concert is a celebration of Saint Louis's finest artists joining together with one unified voice for our city. The concert features three new work debuts demonstrating the stories from various communities affected by violence in St. Louis. Our mission this year is to bring together St. Louis based aid organizations dedicated to preventing or providing support to victims of trauma and the arts community to foster collaboration and community. In addition to the three world debuts, there will be five pieces displaying the mission/population Community Arts STL is striving to serve. Pieces featuring multiple art disciplines are encouraged, but not required.

Selections will be announced by email and on Facebook on Wednesday, April 22, 2020-Selections will be made based on variety of art discipline, relation to the mission, and integrity of the work

NEW COLLABORATIVE WORKS: Selected organizations/artists will receive a $400 stipend if creating a new work in collaboration with a St. Louis Based Aid Organization. These organizations are dedicated to offering relief, support, and community to the people they serve. The Benefit Concert goal this year is to show work created in collaboration with these organizations to express their individual goals and missions. If the artists are choosing to create a new work with an organization below, we ask that the piece depict these missions through the art form performed. It may be required to meet individually with the contact person from the organization. CommUNITY Arts STL will foster initial contact through either email or phone, and then all other correspondence will be at the imitation of the artist. All scheduling and meeting between the organization and artist will be at their schedule and need discretion.

Partnering Organizations:
PotBangerz serving the homeless, Crime Victim Center serving Mothers who have lost children to violence, or local trauma nurses experience secondary trauma.
For example: An artist creating a collaborative work would choose one of the above organizations, meet with them to gather content and creative an original work based on what he/she has gathered.

ARTISTS REPERTORY WORKS: Organizations/artists will receive a $200 stipend if performing a work that has previously been created and is not in collaboration with an Aid Organization. Pieces should reflect the soul of Saint Louis outlining the troubles our city faces or the hope we need in the future.
