❇ WORKSHOP
The League of Women Voters of Delaware & Chester Counties invite all PA school board candidates and interested voters to the 2021 PA School Board Workshop, with speaker Ron Cowell of the Education Policy & Leadership Center. The LWV and EPLC are both independent, nonpartisan organizations for good government; the workshop is open to the public and information presented will be suitable for PA leaders of any/no partisan affiliation.

❇ SCHEDULE
This workshop will be held in two parts on consecutive evenings:
     PART 1: Wednesday, May 5, 6:30 - 8:30
          · Roles & Responsibilities of School Board
          · Overview of State Policy Issues Affecting School Boards
     PART 2: Thursday., May 6, 6:30 - 8:30
           · Creating a Budget
           · Q&A with a Panel Experienced School Board Members
 
The workshop will be presented by Ron Cowell, who has led EPLC since 1999 following 24 years as a member of the PA House of Representatives. EPLC is an independent, non-partisan, and not-for-profit organization based in Harrisburg and has presented non-partisan school board candidate workshops since 1999. Ron Cowell is an experienced policy leader who also is a frequent speaker, writer, and consultant concerning education policy issues. He will be joined for Part 2 of the workshop by an experienced school district business official and a panel of experienced school board members.
