Beacon Sustainability Fund
Beacon's community energy program, Hudson Valley Community Power, is helping the community to build a local sustainability fund. Every enrollment in local solar through
will generate funds for a local project. Votes must be completed by October 31st.
Which project would you like the local sustainability fund to go towards?
SUSTAINABILITY FUND FOR LOCAL SCHOOLS. This could be used for many things including, for example, a building infrastructure manager that NYSERDA would match with 75% funding.
SOLAR PANELS ON THE HIGHWAY GARAGE: This enormous Department of Public Works building has an ideal rooftop for solar which would reduce local taxes.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION ON THE EAST END. Funds may be matched by local businesses interested in supporting the infrastructure and state grants.
INSTALLATION OF WIND AND SOLAR POWERED LIGHTS. These attractive and efficient features are affordable. Funds raised could buy one or two.
