Hearken Director of Growth
Hearken is looking for a Director of Growth to join our dynamic team as our company expands. The Director of Growth will be the thought-partner of the CEO and manage the training, expansion and success of our growth team.

This role will lead and manage our Growth team, comprised of sales, marketing and service-design strategists. You will lead the expansion and market penetration of Hearken’s current services and product, as well as help us seize the opportunities to grow our offerings to serve the market more deeply and effectively.

Hearken sells a complex technology product and supporting services (example services: newsroom membership strategy and 2020 elections coverage strategy). We also sell into a struggling industry. Newsrooms are facing drastic cuts to staff and decreasing budgets for external services and tools (For information on the state of the industry, please look here: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2019/01/28/does-journalism-have-a-future) You are given a list of 50 leads and asked to do an outbound email campaign. The goal is to convert half of these into initial discovery calls (similar to an introductory needs assessment call). Even though you don’t know that much about these potential clients individually, you are asked to compose an email to all 50 that conveys empathy and understanding and inspires them to action.
