Information and descriptions for upcoming trainings are listed below. If the workshop/training is offered on Zoom or hybrid, a Zoom link will be emailed to participants using the contact information provided on this form. If you have any questions about a workshop/training, please contact the lead(s) listed.

  1. Supporting Our Trans and Nonbinary Communities, Part 1 (Closed Session School of Optometry) Online - Zoom Link in BCal Invite.  Workshop Tuesday December 9, 2025 9AM-11AM 120min interactive workshop.  This workshop will provide participants with concepts, practices, and policies, to create gender inclusive spaces and advocacy. The goal of the workshop is to provide tools for supporting trans & nonbinary community members at Optometry and beyond.

  2. Supporting Our Trans and Nonbinary Communities, Part 2 (Closed Session School of Optometry) - Online-Zoom Link will be in your BCal prior to Workshop Thursday February 5 2026  8AM -9:30AM  Follow-up to Part 1. Putting knowledge into practice, this training will utilize the skills learned in the December training into context with practice scenarios. It will also highlight the current federal directives and how to support the trans/nonbinary communities as they experience uncertainty from a health & wellness perspective.                                                                                                                                                                                          Facilitated by Em Huang, em.huang@berkeley.edu & Billy Curtis, billyc@berkeley.edu.                       

  3. Introduction to GenEq for Intercollegiate Athletics                                                                                          This workshop introduces Intercollegiate Athletics staff and coaches to the Gender Equity Resource Center (GenEq) and its work advancing gender equity, LGBTQ+ inclusion, and understanding of sexual/dating violence-through awareness-focused programs. Participants will learn about GenEq’s core programs—LGBTQ+ initiatives, Women’s initiatives, and Sexual/Dating Violence education—and how these services support student access, belonging, and success. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of campus resources, effective referral pathways, and ways to partner with GenEq to strengthen gender equity and inclusion across Intercollegiate Athletics.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Facilitated by Em Huang, em.huang@berkeley.edu, cici ambrosio, ambrosio@berkeley.edu & Billy Curtis, billyc@berkeley.edu
