Organic and Biodynamic Farmers who need a hand beyond the bushfire emergency across Australia
The Organic and Regenerative Investment Co-operative (ORICoop) is calling out to volunteers interested to lend a hand in the long road to recovery for these bushfire affected farmers. Are you interested to get your hands dirty, to work hard, and to have a direct effect on farmers affected by this natural disaster earlier this year.
Our desire is to enable organic producers to have a community of passionate supporters around them - that will stand with them beyond this tragedy and the months ahead. And support them back on their feet to producing healthy food. We are critically aware of the difficulty for existing certified organic producers affected by bushfires and their long road to recovery, both physically and emotionally. We are keen to bring those that have been directly impacted, together with a team of keen helpers, that can lend a hand when it's needed.
ORICoop is founded on the principles of Co-operative values, members helping others, preserving and enhancing certified organic farmland and localised community based food production systems. True Cooperative principles are around caring about our communities in times of need, and looking beyond our own needs in difficult times.

Saarinen Organics -
We are a Permiculture farm with a certified Organic Herb cropping area that we grow our herbs and create our eco sustainable skin care from.
Our farm was heavily impacted from the 2020 fires.
We would really appreciate your time to help us in the cropping area, with such jobs as:-
- wheelbarrowing compost to new bed,
- weeding, spreading wood chip onto paths
- planting our crops back
- pruning trees
- repainting our lab
We also need to rebuild our drying shed for initial sorting and first stage dry air drying down at our river flat cropping area.
Ideally we would like 6 to 10 people for 2 days in mid to late april on a thursday ,friday for this group (we would welcome a person or 2 to hang around for longer for a bit more help around the farm). If volunteers could bring a wheelbarrow would be great as we only have 2 and a shovel and rake would be useful. It can be cold this time of year so some warm bedding and clothes is advisable
Any volunteers will need to bring own accommodation , ie tent , caravan, swag , your own food. We have solar power available , clean toilet and shower for anyone staying here.
