Sine Nomine Spring 2021 Performance Project
Join Sine Nomine: Renaissance Choir and director Anne Lyman for our winter project!

WHAT'S IN A NAME? Celebrating Josquin des Prez and the Missa Sine Nomine
Our final performance project of the 2020-21 season is a celebration of the 500th Anniversary of the death of Renaissance master Josquin des Prez (c.1455-1521). This project will feature the 'Missa Sine Nomine' - 'Mass without a name' - and other pieces to showcase Josquin, and will include movements from 'Missa Sine Nomines' by other composers from Renaissance France, Burgundy, and Italy.

This virtual singing opportunity is open to EVERYONE who has a love of Renaissance polyphony and would like to learn more about the music, history, and culture that makes this music so uniquely beautiful. And you can complete the project all in the comfort of your own home!

PERFORMANCE (You Tube): Sunday, June 6, at 3:00pm PDT.
Here is what you will receive as part of this project:
----Music scores made available in PDF form (to view online or print out) and via "scrolling score" videos plus midi files for practicing
--Five (5) pre-recorded audio and video lessons distributed over the five (5) week project period
--Five (5) weekly live meetings (on Zoom, Thursday evenings, 7:00-8:30pm PDT) with everyone who is participating in the project
--OPTIONAL: Opportunity to contribute individual audio, and possibly video, recordings of the pieces we are learning about
NEW FOR THIS PROJECT! There is a possibility that participants who are local to the Puget Sound region will be able to gather to sing IN PERSON at Trinity Parish Church on Sunday evenings in May. More details will be available about this once the project begins.
Our final performance will take place in the form of a YouTube premiere presented by Anne Lyman on Sunday, JUNE 6, 2020 at 3pm PDT. It will include our recorded performances and a slide show populated by pictures of all of you plus various related images.
The cost for this project is $80 per participant. An extra cost may be added for optional in-person singing in May. Please note that some scholarship funds (partial/full) are available as needed; requests for consideration may be sent to:

We are interested to know the locations from where singers are participating. From what city and state are you joining us?
You will receive one audio/video lesson per week beginning March 28. Our Zoom meetings will take place on Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:30 PM PST, beginning April 1. Attendance is not required to participate in the project, but can provide additional opportunities to engage with the music and with each other. Do you plan to participate in the Zoom meetings? (Recordings of the Thursday Zoom lessons will also be made available for viewing on YouTube afterward.)
