Franklin County Senior Center Waiver of Liability & Hold Harmless Agreement

Thank you for being part of the Franklin County Senior Center (FCSC). We’re so glad you’re here—whether you’re joining a program or volunteering your time. To help keep everyone safe and informed, we ask all participants and volunteers to review and sign the following agreement.

By signing below, I confirm that I understand and agree to the following: ● Participation involves some risk. I understand that participating in FCSC programs or volunteering may involve risks, including injury, illness, or property damage. I accept these risks and choose to participate voluntarily.

● I release FCSC from liability. To the fullest extent allowed by law, I release and hold harmless Franklin County Senior Center, Inc., its staff, volunteers, officers, and Board of Directors from any liability, claims, or demands — except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

● This includes injury, illness, or property damage. I understand this release covers bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage that may result from participation or volunteer service.

● FCSC does not provide insurance. I understand that FCSC does not provide medical, health, or disability insurance and will not cover any medical expenses I may incur.

● I’m responsible for my own coverage. I am responsible for my own insurance and have been advised to carry personal health and accident insurance.

● I will treat others respectfully. I agree to follow FCSC’s rules and treat others with respect. ● I will follow safety instructions. I agree to take responsibility for my actions and follow all safety guidelines while participating or volunteering.

● I’m responsible for any damage I cause. I understand that I am responsible for any damage I may cause to the facility or equipment.

● Volunteering is unpaid. I understand that my role as a volunteer is unpaid and not considered employment.

● This agreement follows Vermont law. I understand this agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Vermont.

● If one part is invalid, the rest still applies. I agree that if any part of this waiver is deemed invalid, the rest remains enforceable.

By signing below, I confirm that I’ve read and understood this Waiver of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement. I’m signing it voluntarily, as my own free act. No one has made any promises or statements beyond what’s written here.
