Woof Gang Rescue Adoption Application
WGR does not guarantee that all prospective adopters will be approved. We reserve the right to choose the best adoptive family who best matches our dog. We evaluate all applicants on a case by case basis. People who are not approved may wish to reapply for a different pet or at a later time when their circumstances change. In addition, WGR reserves the right to redirect applicants to a pet that better fits your lifestyle in order to have a successful adoption. Disapproval simply means that does not feel it has the right pet for the applicant at the present time; it is not a reflection of the applicants' character. If concerns present themselves at any time during the adoption process, WGR also reserves the right to reevaluate your application.

Please proceed with this application ONLY if you are currently in a position to bring home a dog within the next 3-5 days out of respect for our other applicants. Please note that all members of the household must be at the meet and greet.

Due to COVID-19, we are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our fosters and our adopters. We understand the concern and the need for social distancing and we respect and intend to follow that completely. Thank you!
Woof Gang Rescue "Paw Pact"
Adopting a new pet into your home is a serious commitment - one Woof Gang Rescue takes very seriously and one we expect our adopters also take seriously. For that reason we ask all new adopters to sign a “Paw Pact”. This is a promise you make to us and, more importantly, to the dog you are adopting. We strongly feel these dogs deserve this level of commitment.

While we try our absolute best, we do understand there are rare situations when an adoption may truly not be a good fit. In these cases, we have a process for returning a dog to WGR, which is outlined in our adoption contract. However, we firmly believe a dog is a family member and thus returning a dog to WGR should always be a last resort after all other avenues have been exhausted.

All members of the family/household (including children!!) should understand and agree to this Pact.
I understand a dog is a serious commitment. A dog can live 15 years or more! I understand this is a lifetime obligation *
Required
I understand there is an acclimation period when a dog enters a home. The dog needs time and patience during this period. Introductions to other pets and new people should happen slowly and cautiously. All interactions should be monitored initially. My new dog may have some accidents. I may lose some sleep. I promise to stay positive and give the dog time to adjust *
Required
I agree to enroll in training classes and if necessary seek out additional training for behavior issues that arise at any point in this dog’s life. The entire household will actively participate in training for consistency. *
Required
Dogs need daily exercise - mentally and physically and I agree to ensure this happens. *
Required
I understand the time commitment of a dog. My life may change and get busier, but my dog’s needs do not change. I will make time. *
Required
Dogs are not cheap! Food, toys, bedding, training, vet bills, grooming, daycare/dog walkers, etc… I understand and can commit to the financial responsibility that goes along with a new pet. *
Required
I understand unexpected veterinary costs can and will arise throughout this dog’s life. I am prepared financially to handle this (pet insurance is not required but is a good option) *
Required
I understand dogs make messes, can be noisy, and smelly! Dogs may chew & destroy things and will shed! I am prepared and willing to accept this! *
Required
I understand crate training is highly recommended for most dogs initially. I promise to always make the crate a positive environment. *
Required
I understand allergies can arise at any point, and am prepared to treat them if this occurs. *
Required
My dog will be my family. If we move, the dog moves with us. If our family changes (i.e. divorce, baby, additional pets) this dog is still our family and will be treated as such. *
Required
Please describe WHY this dog is the best fit for your family. If this dog requires breed experience, please list it here. Be sure to include ALL reasons (including experience, time, resources, etc.). Please note that if you do not meet a requirement for this dog, your application will not be processed. *

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
These pets are in a rescue group because for one reason or another previous owners no longer wanted to take care of them. The main purpose of this organization is to find responsible and reliable homes for all pets placed in their care. These animals are thinking and feeling creatures, but not able to provide the care they need. Adopting a pet is a very important decision and one that affects not only you and your family, but the pet you decide to adopt. Millions of pets are euthanized every year because people do not take seriously the maintenance and care of animals. The care and maintenance of a pet can be costly. Time and attention are major factors that also need to be considered. All pets in the program have been taken to the vet for an examination. Basic vaccinations are given, and spaying/neutering if necessary. All pets are in good health upon adoption. If there are extenuating medical factors involved all are noted on the contract at signing. It is the responsibility of the new owner to provide additional vaccinations as necessary, and any preventative care required such as teeth cleaning, and heartworm and flea preventative. The adoption fee is used to provide medical care, food, shelter, and advertising for the pets. THE FEE IS NON-REFUNDABLE. The fee must be paid upon signing the contract. If, for any reason, you can no longer provide care to the pet you adopt, it must be returned to this organization. The average pet has a life span of 12 to 15 years.
Are you willing to make a commitment to this pet for the rest of its life? *

Are you willing to provide the necessary love and attention as well as the necessary food, training, vet care, etc. required to maintain a happy pet? *

If you have any questions regarding the care and maintenance of a pet please let the organization know. We will be more than happy to help with any questions you may have. It is extremely important that once a dog is placed in a new home that it remains there and that all parties involved are satisfied. WGR is looking for COMMITTED FAMILIES ONLY. If you have any questions or concerns about adopting a pet it is imperative that you finalize them before adopting. Also please remember that ALL members of the household (human and animal) MUST be present at the Meet and Greet!
