The Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACU), in partnership with Estrada & Aquino Law and with the support of the Private Education Assistance Committee, would like to invite you to attend the executive session titled "The Legal Mind: Academic Freedom of Institutions of Higher Learning," on April 22, 2025, from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, at the Centennial Auditorium, Jose Rizal University, Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.
This program aims to provide valuable insights into promoting, protecting, and strengthening the various aspects of academic freedom of HEIs.
The forum will also cover the following topics:
I. Governance of Philippine Higher Education: An Overview
II. Balancing Student Protection and the Academic Freedom to Enforce Discipline
III. The Extent and Boundaries of the Academic Freedom: Who May Teach? (Navigating Labor Laws for the University)
IV. A Safe Space Begins with Me
(Anti-Sexual Harassment Ac, Safe Spaces Act, and other laws promoting the welfare of students and school personnel)
