The SBIA will facilitate the pick-up of warm clothing donations from participating SBIA members on November 9th, 2017 and drop them off to First United. To participate fill out your information below and we will contact you to confirm the collection details.
As a reminder, the following items are needed most:• Jackets• Toques• Gloves• Rain Ponchos• Elastic waist pants• Sweaters• Cotton Pull overs (hoodies)Please note the sizes that are most in demand are extra small to medium, but they are happy to receive all sizes. Generally the mix of their clothing requests are 70% men and 30% ladies.
Other cold weather items that are very useful (that are given out on overnight shifts) include:• Blankets• Sleeping Bags• Tarps
First United is a 60-bed overnight shelter and outreach organization providing daytime drop-in services and programs as well as hundreds of meals each day for people experiencing homelessness or the need for basic care. First United has been in operation for over 130 years, committed to their values of dignity, respect, trust, justice, and empowerment. The clothing donations will be used in their emergency clothing program.
