Two-hour Power Pledge
Research studies show that children perform better academically when a parent is involved in their school. As a parent, grandparent or caring adult – as well as a Mecklenburg citizen and taxpayer – I am a part of the public school system and I have a responsibility to participate.

Fall Festival: Sell tickets, supervise kids on an inflatable, run a game, help set up or clean up, etc. You’ll be assigned a one-hour shift. Nov. 7.
Book Fair – Help children fill out book wish lists or work as a cashier at our Fall and Spring book fairs. We’ll show you how to work the register! Nov. 6-14
Tutoring – Work with kindergarten or 1st graders once a week in small groups or one-on-one.
Helping Hands – Cut, staple and do other work for teachers on Friday mornings.
Father-Daughter Dance committee – Help plan and execute this annual event on Feb. 20.
Beautification Day – Join us in the fall (Oct. 31) and spring to spread mulch, plant flowers, trim bushes and more!
Teacher appreciation – Help plan treats for teachers and staff during this week-long May event
EOG Test Proctor – Serve a four-hour shift monitoring students during testing in May
Summer of Learning (SOL) committee – Help put together our summer reading program/fundraiser.
Fall fundraisers: Be a part of our annual Invest in Your Child and fall sales fundraiser.
Take-home projects: Enter data for our directory, do projects for teachers, etc.
Middle school committee: Work on the team to make the most of our middle school experience. Organize spirit nights, participate in fundraisers, advocate for middle school needs.
Cultural committee -- Enhance Collinswood's cultural flair through speaking engagements, cooking and other talents.
Dad's group - This group brings dads together to work on projects for the school.
