GCSD Summer Academy ENL Theater Workshop presents Annie Jr.

We are thrilled to extend a warm invitation to all passionate students to join us for an unforgettable summer theater experience. GCSD is running an ENL (English as a New Language) summer theater program (Annie Jr.)  in alignment with the GCSD Summer Academy. As we have completed the first round of registration, we now have open registration slots available beyond the target population. Any GCSD students grades K - 8 who would like to join us are welcome. Let’s put on a show!

Theater professionals from KJK Productions will be working with students every day (Monday through Thursday) from July 8th through July 18th at RJB from 12 noon through 2:30pm (9 days total- July 8 through 18th) culminating in a public performance on July 18th. Families must be available to transport their child(ren) to and from the program.

The production company provides the full set, costumes and props. Each registrant K - 8 will receive a part (K-2 students will be cast in the Children’s Choir and participate throughout the process).

In order for your child to participate in the performance, they must be present for ALL days of the program. The show at the conclusion of the program will be a culmination of the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of all participants. It is essential that your child attends every session to ensure their full involvement and contribution to the final performance. We understand that unexpected circumstances may arise, and we are committed to working with you to address any issues that may affect your child's attendance. However, consistent presence is vital to maintain the integrity and quality of the final show.

About KJK Productions:

The KJK Staff is led by adult theater education professionals who share their talents, enthusiasm, and passion for excellence with young performers. This program brings children of all ages and grades together into one community activity for a unique educational project. The mission of KJK Productions is to enrich, entertain and educate the community through exceptional but affordable theatrical arts and resources.

While young performers are learning to sing, dance, act, and put on a show, they are also building essential skills for development.  Our program strives to educate children about the importance of acceptance, self-worth, and teamwork. Each of our productions split up the roles in order for all of our participants to get their moment in the spotlight. We teach our performers that everyone has an important part to play and that putting a show together is truly a team effort. Participants build self-esteem, attain social skills, express themselves, communicate well, and show creativity.
