10/25 National Chemistry Week 2025 Volunteering Form
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for this year's event to celebrate National Chemistry week! Please fill out this form to sign up.
  • Location: Children's Museum Houston, 1500 Binz St., Houston, TX 77004
  • Date: October 25th, 2025
  • Time: 9:00AM-2:00 PM (Different shifts, each an hour and 15 minutes long)
This years theme is: The Hidden Life of Spices.
  •  We have four different activity tables where volunteers will guide kids through exciting, hands-on experiments. You'll get to help kids make secret messages with everyday spices, demonstrate the concept of hydrophobic substances, or get creative with play-dough. It's a great opportunity to share your enthusiasm for science and help inspire the next generation of scientists.  
REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO THE EVENT:
  • BACKGROUND CHECKS are REQUIRED since you will be working with minors. NO EXCEPTIONS. You will submit a form for a background check request, and will receive it in a couple of business days. Once you receive it, you MUST email it to iiryleevu@gmail.com (Continue with this form to complete). 
  • You must fill out the SignUp Genius. You may not attend if you do not sign up for a shift (Continue with this form to complete).
  • KNOW your event activity! While completing this form, instructions on how to run your table/experiment of choice will be provided, and you must review it. This is because you will be demonstrating the activity with kids at your table, so you need to be prepared and familiar with the steps. (Continue with this form to choose and review).
  • Bring your physical ID to the event.
