Spoke and Leaf Farm 2019 CSA
Spoke and Leaf Farm is excited to offer CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares for the 2019 season!

Are you new to the CSA model? In short, a CSA share is a way for consumers (Community) to receive fresh-from-the-farm produce directly from the grower and for the farmer to receive much needed funds (Support-ed) in the spring in order to continue growing (Agriculture). It's also a direct relationship between harvest share holders and the farmer that enriches knowledge and community around the food that sustains us and that we celebrate together.

For 2019 there will be only 25 shares available for each seasonal block!

WHAT'S IN A SHARE?

Each share will include a variety of vegetables and herbs. Items will include more consistent staples like lettuce, cooking greens, and onions, as well as unique veggies to discover and enjoy. We work hard to keep each share diverse while also regularly including favorites. A share is intended to feed two veggie lovers, or 3-4 lighter eaters or those who eat out more frequently. Share volume will vary with the season; lighter to begin with and becoming very full through the height of the season.

SEASON LENGTH

The CSA season will run 22 weeks, from June through the end of October. First pick-up is planned for Wednesday, June 5, but the exact start date for the season will depend on the weather and other factors. Members will be informed by email of the start date 7-10 days before the first pick up.

HOME DELIVERY!
We offer home delivery as an option within the SE/NE areas of Portland, OR. You can choose between a Wednesday morning or Friday morning delivery depending on your location. Please see the map below for delivery areas. Wednesday deliveries will be made between 10am and 12noon. Friday deliveries will be made between 8am and 10:30am. If you are located within one mile of a drop off location, we ask that you pick up at the drop location (unless you have a mitigating situation, such as a physical inability to pick-up at the drop site). Live outside the delivery area but within a few blocks? Talk to me about the possibility!

Home Delivery Agreement
Share holders with home delivery agree to provide:
1. A safe, accessible location to delivery the share, such as a covered porch, patio or carport. Please, do not allow your dog(s) to access the area for my safety and for theirs', as some produce is toxic to dogs, and, no matter how friendly your dog(s) may be, they can be protective when a stranger arrives. Delivery will not be made if your dog(s) is (are) able to access the path to, and the delivery drop spot during the delivery window.
2. A container of a minimum capacity of 10 gallons with a secure cover and containing ice/ice packs if daytime temperatures are predicted to exceed 60 degrees. If no container is provided, produce will be left in the designated spot in paper bag(s). Spoke and Leaf Farm assumes no liability for produce that is stolen, tampered with or damaged once it it outside of our control. This includes access by non-humans (birds, squirrels, dogs, raccoons, etc.).

CSA PICK UP

CSA pick up has two options in Portland!

1. Wednesdays from 2pm to 7pm during the People's Co-op Farmers Market, 3029 SE 21st Ave, Portland. CSA customers will be able to pick up market style, selecting their share items from the market stand with a handy sign to let them know how much of what items to select. The market stand will be open for additional purchases, if desired.

3. Fridays from 10:30am to 7:30pm at the NE location of Food Fight Vegan Grocery, 11155 NE Halsey St, Portland. These shares will be prepacked for grab and go pick-up. Please bring bag(s) to take your share from the bin, or be sure to return your bin the following week. If not returned, share will be left in paper bags.
*Please note* Once share pick-ups begin, you cannot change your pick-up location.

SPLITTING SHARES?

What you do with your share is up to you (hopefully some delicious recipes!) and sharing is always encourage, but Spoke and Leaf Farm is not able to split your share for you. You always have the option of sending someone to pick up your share in your place if you choose the pick-up option instead of home delivery. This is a great option for single people who want to share with someone else to alternate weeks of picking up the share.

HOW DO THE SHARE BLOCKS WORK?

You purchase each share block as you go, or two or three at a time. Your choice! This is a great opportunity to try out a CSA share with a short time commitment, fit your travel/family needs, or fill in for times when your garden isn't producing enough! (Dates are for Wednesday. Add two days for Friday pick ups to know when those shares start/stop.)

Early Summer block: 8 weeks - June 5 through July 24 - $256 w/ home delivery, $216 pick-up only

Late Summer block: 8 weeks - July 31 through September 18 - $256 w/ home delivery, $216 pick-up only

Autumn block: 6 weeks - September 25 through October 30 - $192 w/ home delivery, $162 pick-up only

If you purchase more than one block up front you will receive a 10% discount on the 2nd block. Purchase all three block up front and receive a 20% discount on the 2nd and 3rd blocks.

1 block: $256 (with home delivery) / $216 (pick-up location) OR $192 (with home delivery) / $162 (pick-up location)

1 block plus a 2nd block: $256/$216 (Early Summer block) + $230.50/$194.50 (Late Summer block) = $486.50/$410.50 OR $256/$216 (Early or Late Summer block ) + $173/$146 (Autumn block) = $429/$362

All three block: $256/$216 + $230.50/$194.50 + $153.50/$130 = $640/$540.50
