My name is Cal & I’m a genealogist. My goal is to connect people with their ancestors through photographs, stories, and records.

I have a degree in Anthropology from Indiana University Bloomington and spent several years working for a professional genealogy company. I would be happy to send my Linkedin to anyone interested in pursuing research!

I create interactive family trees by finding and studying ancestral records (Ancestry, MyHeritage, FamilySearch, etc.) and piecing together your family history. I research a full six generations and include all records, photographs, newspaper clippings, and a timeline for each ancestor.

Here are some things you can discover from my research:

* Your great-great-great grandparents’ names
* Newspaper articles about your ancestors (Crime? Scandal? Who knows!)
* Physical descriptions of your ancestors from census records, naturalization petitions and war draft cards
* Six full generations back of your family tree
* Photographs of your ancestors you have never seen before (Found from digitized newspapers and Ancestry member-submitted collections)

To start your tree, I will need as much information as you are comfortable sharing about your known family history. All information will be kept completely private and unlisted on any genealogy sites.

Origins Ancestor Map - $75 - I will create a map detailing your ancestral homelands before your family came to the United States. This is a great alternative to a traditional DNA ethnicity test. See how your ancestors moved across their continent of origin and connect to your ancestral home. All research needed to create this map is included in the price.

USA Ancestor Map - $50 - I will create a map detailing the birth locations of all your United States ancestors. This is a great way to visualize the way your ancestors migrated through the country and how you got to where you are today. See where your ancestors lived during the Civil War, Revolutionary War, and colonial times!

Ancestral Cause of Death Report - $50 - Using death certificates and obituaries, I will compile a report of the most common causes of death in your family tree. While this is not considered medical advice, it is helpful information to understand your genetic health history.

Ancestral Professions Report - $50 - Using Census Records and Obituaries, I will compile a report showcasing the most common professions in your family tree. Oftentimes certain professions and businesses were passed down through many generations of a family. Which professions are in your DNA?

Surname Origins & Meanings Chart - $30 - I will put together a document of all the surnames in your family tree with their listed origin and meaning. This is a great way to figure out your overall ethnicity estimate and discover your heritage in the "Old World"

Ancestral Road Trip - $150 - I will create a ancestral road trip itinerary for you! I will use your tree to create a multi-stop road trip based on the people and places in your personal family history. I will provide you with an interactive online map and three stops/activities based on the people and places in your tree.

Ancestor Profile Report - $25 - I will create a report for one ancestor of interest. The report will include a detailed residence map, timeline, general life history and fun facts. This is a great option if you want to learn more about a certain person in your tree with more in-depth research.

Property History & Timeline - $50 - Interested in a specific residence in your family tree? Order a property history report! I will provide a document explaining the general history of the land and provide as many details as I can about the residence. I will use census records and city directories to build this robust history report.

Are you comfortable giving me the names of your parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents? I will not share this information with others and will only use it to find census, birth, marriage, and death records for the tree.
