Terms and Conditions
Entrants must provide their own insurance, proof of which together with entry fee and Application form must reach a committee member by March 14th.
Time and Date
Parade takes place on Friday March 17th at 4.00p.m. Details of arrival times and starting locations will be forwarded to you in due course. Entrants are required to comply fully with all instructions of the committee and stewards acting on our behalf on the day.

Please get your entry in as early as possible. Final date for receipt of all entries is 4pm, 14th March 2017
Entry is priced at categories 1) Commercial @ €100 and 2) Community Groups which have free entry. Where fee is applicable, the entry fee must accompany the Entry Form. Businesses who have already sponsored the parade to the value of €200 or more do not have to pay entry fee.
It is a requirement that all groups must have insurance to cover their entry on the day. This insurance cover must be produced prior to participation. The committee are restricted by the public authority from allowing entries with no insurance to participate. If you are a company and are using vehicles (either as commercial entry or as part of a community entry – you need to ensure your insurance is extended to cover the type of entry you will have in the parade, community groups should already have their own insurance and need to ensure that this covers participation in the parade. Copies of the relevant insurance cover must be attached to the entry form.
Right of Refusal
The committee reserves the right to refuse participation – even after any payment is made and/or entry form received. No political or religious protest or entries deemed to be of a controversial or offensive nature will be permitted
Make it Interesting/Creative
The committee intend this parade to be very colourful, creative and entertaining and we need your creativity and imagination to make this a success. Please put this strongly on your agenda when planning your entry.
Community and ethnic groups who will provide colourful, interesting and entertaining representations of what they are about, or who strongly embrace the themes set out above, will be very welcome as will companies who combine with clubs or community organisations to put together an interesting entry.
A panel of judges will adjudicate all entries and whose decision will be final. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
1. Best Creative Entry
2. Best Band,
3. Best Community Group,
4. Best School/Commercial Co-Operative Float
The judges will be empowered to make additional awards in any category or not to make an award in a particular category. Winners will be announced on the day and presentations of prizes will take place at a function on a later date.
Float Giveaways:
Distribution of Giveaways, leaflets, balloons, etc. from Float. It is important to the committee that your float (deliberately or unplanned) does not cause litter problems or accidents. If you intend to distribute gifts, balloons, etc. – these may not be thrown off float into the crowd, these items must be distributed by persons walking alongside your float and handed directly to members of the crowd.

We really want you to come out and celebrate our National day. Thousands are expected to line the streets on the day, giving businesses, individuals, clubs and other organisations a great opportunity to promote yourselves – so go on, make it a pleasant and interesting experience for them.

Note: The Committee cannot supply any materials or trucks / trailers for floats.
