The 100 Black Improvisers Partnership - Student Interest Form
The 100 Black Improvisers Partnership is a joint project between BIA Academy and theater owners/corporate sponsors across America. Our goal is to get 100 Black people into Improv 101 by July 2021.

If you're Black & interested in getting into improv, we're looking for you!

We will attempt to match you with a local theater for classes, but in the event that we cannot, we will place admitted students into an online class based in another city - likely through BIA Academy.

If you are accepted to the program, you are expected to attend all classes at the theater with which you are matched.

Attendance at a rate below 75% may result in your removal from the program.

You will also be required to follow all Rules & Codes of Conduct of the theater with which you study.

Basically...we're all trying to build relationships and we're putting ourselves out there by doing this so...just be cool. Treat everyone with respect - and if you aren't sure that you can consistently attend a class, PLEASE don't accept a spot until you're sure that you can be there.

Submission of this form does not automatically guarantee admittance to the program. However, we want to serve as many people as we can. While we do offer workshops and programs geared toward all improvisers, this particular program is exclusively for Black people.

If you said yes, you do have some improv experience, please tell us more about that (This will help us to ensure that you are in the right class).
Are you ready to start an improv class now, or would you prefer to be placed on the waitlist for classes in the fall? (Don't worry, there's no wrong answer. Saying you're ready for a class now doesn't make you more likely to be accepted; it simply helps us keep track of how many classes we need to have running at a time. Also, it's possible that students who are ready now may still have to wait until the fall, depending on when classes are available)

Is there anything else you would like us to know about you?
