Mission of AWAHK Volunteers Team
AWAHK volunteers are committed, by using our professional skills and talents, to support the community.
Role and Types of Volunteer Services
- Visit charities;
- Participate in Charity Run and Charity Walk;
- Provide courses, seminars and training and on-going advisory and support services to small Non-Governmental Organizations (“NGOs”), with the aims:
- to educate NGOs in preparing financial records;
- to help NGOs to understand the best practices in accounting, financing and reporting;
- to strengthen their financial systems and internal governance; and
- to support NGOs that are seeking long term professional advise on accounting matters.
AWAHK Flagship Community Service Kick-Off
Established in 1947, The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) has more than 460 agency members, dedicated to professionalism and building a just, caring and inclusive society.
Among the agency members, there are more than 300 small non sub-vented organizations that lack financial resources. This is the service group under the Project Star program.
This is an on-going community project, please come and join us to serve the community with our hearts, our love and our care with joint efforts and professionalism.
Details of the Program :
Phase I Kick-Off Seminar on various practical financial management issues that the smaller NGOs are facing, followed by small group enquiry sessions
Date : 13 April 2018 (Saturday)
Time : 9.30am – 12:30pm
Venue : Duke of Windsor Social Service Building, 15 Hennessy Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong
Phase II Regular Small Group Meetings with our Financial Ambassadors to provide on-going education with the aim of enhancing the NGOs financial system and governance.
Phase III Email Enquiry Support.
Phase IV Sharing Sessions for NGOs in similar service areas to create a mutual support.
