Revisiting the Past of the Mediterranean 
The French Embassy is organizing two series of history lectures, one in English focusing on some aspects of the historical ties between France and Malta in a broader Mediterranean context and the other in French about powerful women in the Mediterranean history.

Program of lectures:

- 27 FEB 2025, 6:30 PM : Privateering and trade in the 16th- and 17th-century Mediterranean by Prof. Géraud Poumarède  - Valletta Design Cluster with the Italian Cultural Institute of Valletta and the Alliance française

- 6 MAR 2025, 6:30 PM : Zénobie, Reine de Palmyre par Dr. Wifek Aouinet - with the Alliance française at their premises (Hamrun)

- 12 MAR 2025, 6:30 PM : Early persecutions of the Protestants in France and Malta by Pr. Céline Borello and Pr. Carmel Cassar - Valletta Design Cluster

- 13 MAR 2025, 1:00 PM : L'idée de tolérance en France à l'époque moderne par Pr. Céline Borello - Msida Campus (Venue: GW255) with the French Department of the UM

- 13 MAR 2025, 6:30 PM : Catherine de Médicis, une Reine de France née en Italie, par Pr. Céline Borello - Jesuit's Church Valletta with the Jesuit's Church Foundation and the Alliance française

- 27 MAR 2025, 6:30 PM : Inside the French-ruled territory (1798-1800) by Pr. Yosanne Vella - National Library of Malta

- 9 APRIL 2025, 6:30 PM : Marie-Caroline d'Autriche, Reine de Naples et soeur de Marie-Antoinette par Pr. Alain Blondy - Valletta Design Cluster with the Alliance française  (the exact room will be precised to the participants)
