Welcome to Ss. Peter and Paul Parish! We are excited you are apart of this community and would like to see how your gifts/talents can serve our community. We are all called to serve our church and to be good stewards of our time and talent. You are invited to participate in this survey of your talents and interests. Committee Member- A group of people who meet regularly to plan for and oversee a certain area of Parish life
Parish Council: advises the Pastor on parish life and activities
Finance Council: aids the Pastor in managing parish finances
Liturgy: oversees the liturgical life and ministries of the parish
Hospitality: plan parish wide social events. Hospitality volunteers carry out the plans
Young Adult Board: oversees social, service, and spiritual events for the young adult population
Activity Volunteer- A member of the community who helps fulfill the tasks and services needed to accomplish the goals of the Parish articulated by the various councils and committees.
Hospitality: help set up and clean up for social events (SSPP Feast day, socials after Sunday Masses, etc.)
Office and Clerical: assist staff with mailings, worship aids, managing data, and other general office tasks
Building and Grounds: maintain the courtyard, assist with building repairs and improvements
Community-building Events: plan and execute events for the Detroit community such as evangelization events, SSPP awareness opportunities within or around SSPP.
Digital Media & Marketing: help maintain SSPP website or social media
Children's Programs: Children's faith formation, sacrament preparation, Liturgy of the Word, etc.
Spirituality Programs: Adult faith formation, prayer groups/services, bible or book study, retreats, Ignatian Spiritual Exercises
Young Adult Programs (ages 20-40): social events, service opportunities, spiritual programs, Ignatian Leadership Development Program
Social Justice: Join other parishioners in initiatives including education, immigration and the environment.
Inclusion/Diversity: work to welcome every person that seeks full participation in our parish community.
Small Groups: groups of 5-10 parishioners who share a common interest and meet for mutual support, focusing on one of three areas: spirituality, service, social fellowship

Liturgy Opportunities
Welcome Team: Greet and assist visitors, parishioners, and/or assist with offertory collection
Sacristan: assist in the sacristy in preparing and setting up for Mass
Lector: Read scripture, prayers and announcements at Mass
Acolyte (server): assist the priest in the sanctuary during Mass
Minister of Communion: assist at Mass with distribution of Communion
Choir and Music: enjoy singing or playing an instrument at Mass
Altar Care: take care of alter linens, vestments, vessels, candles, flower arrangements, and the alter and sacristy areas
Liturgical Environment: plan and care for the liturgical environment and decoration for the seasons, feasts and special celebrations.
