Fortaleza, Inc was born out of a call to action to a group of Latino community leaders, parents, educators, and faith leaders to find a solution to the achievement gap of Latinos students within Lowell.
To qualify for this scholarship:- Applicant must be of Hispanic/Latino descent.
- Applicant must be a resident of Lowell, Massachusetts that has or is graduating from one of Lowell's Schools (High School, GLTS, Charter or Alternative High School diploma programs), and has been accepted and will be enrolled into a college/university or trade school by fall 2026.
- Applicants must be enrolled in school and plan to attend a post-secondary education institution (college/university/trade school) as a freshman by fall of 2026 or are currently enrolled in post-secondary education institution (college/university/trade school) and seeking additional financial assistance.
- Deadline to complete and submit your application is Friday, March 20, 2026.
- Scholarship recipients will be selected by a scholarship selection committee through a blind process and will be notified by Friday, April 24, 2026.
- Recipients are expected to attend Fortaleza's Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration on October 3, 2026.
