What's a Community Resistance Zone?
In the fall of 2017 Juntos built their first Community Resistance Zone in South Philadelphia. With over 1,300 people in our neighborhood trained on their rights and on how to protect their neighbors and 500 households committed in defending our community from raids and racial profiling by Police and Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE). We want our communities adn our allies to join us as send a clear message to those who wish to oppress us that we are prepared to fight back. With the current administration we are certain that the attacks on our community will continue and that the only way to have true safety is by actively resisting against the criminalization of our families and loved ones. The Community Resistance Zone team meets once a month on Saturdays to receive updates, train new members about how to engage in these conversations, and canvass in South Philadelphia to inform people of their rights with immigration and the police.
Would you like to join the Community Resistance Zone team?
