Sponsors are “companions on the journey of faith” for the candidates for Confirmation. They represent the local church community supporting and encouraging the candidates in their life of faith. Sponsors are role models, demonstrating their faith by their actions and words in the faith community and the world. Sponsors at St. Anthony are expected to:

Fill out the Sponsor Eligibility form in print form and give it back to the candidate for Confirmation--or you can fill it out online and we will retrieve it.
Take responsibility to be a good role model for the person they sponsor, by the example of their prayer and Christian living.
Communicate regularly with the candidate, take part in their life and listen to their spiritual needs.
Give witness to the faith community of your candidate’s readiness to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Give witness to the candidate of the faith of the Catholic Church.
Attend the Confirmation Ceremony and particular classes and trainings as assigned by the Director of Faith Formation.
