Volunteer in Greece - The Hellenic Initiative Australia's Volunteering Program
The Hellenic Initiative Australia's Volunteering Program offers volunteers of all ages the opportunity to help our partner charity, Boroume, deliver its innovative food saving programs
Volunteers are needed each afternoon Mon-Sat to join Boroume teams collecting fresh food at farmers markets in Athens and Thessaloniki. Food collected from markets is donated directly to local charities, soup kitchens and welfare organisations.
The Boroume Farmers' Market Program, which is funded by The Hellenic Initiative Australia, collected more than 158,000 kilos of food for people in need in 2019.
If you are travelling to Greece in 2020 and interested in volunteering with Boroume, please complete this form and we will contact you with further information.
Volunteering during your next holiday in Greece is a great way to assist relief efforts, gain a unique insight into life in Greece and meet locals and fellow international volunteers.
Boroume provides training and support for volunteers. All travel and accommodation in Greece will be the responsibility of the individual.
