Terms and Conditions
In consideration of the benefits, experience, and personal satisfaction to be derived from volunteer activities at the city of Blue Earth animal shelter, I agree to and/or will abide by the following:
1. I am at least 18 years old.
2. I will be given a key to the animal shelter. I understand that only authorized people have permission to be in the shelter, and I will not copy the key or give it to another person.
If requested, I will return my key to the Faribault County Humane Society.
3. I understand that the animal may have been rescued from dangerous, unhealthy, or cruel situations, and there may be long-lasting effects. I will always exercise caution and follow safety procedures, including, but not limited to the following:
The animals should not interact with each other. Use a leash to take dogs out.
Don't allow dogs to pull, bite the leash, or jump up on you.
If bitten, report it to a Faribault County Humane Society officer immediately.
3. I will indemnify and hold harmless the City of Blue Earth, Faribault County Humane Society, its volunteers, agents, officers, board members, donors, and supporters, from any and all claims for any injury, disease, damages or liability of any nature arising from or related to my participation in activities at, or related to, the animal shelter.
4. I waive any and all claims I might have or may have in the future, against the City of Blue Earth, Faribault County Humane Society, its volunteers, agents, officers, board members, donors, and supporters, which do or might arise from my participation in activities at, or related to, the animal shelter.
5. I fully understand, appreciate, and accept the risks involved in activities at the animal shelter, including but not limited to the risks* associated with the handling of animals confined to the shelter, and hereby release the City of Blue Earth, Faribault County Humane Society, its volunteers, agents, officers, board members, donors, and supporters of any claim or inadequate warnings, inadequate precautions, or inadequate control over the animals confined there.
*risks include but not limited to: animal bites, scratches, fleas, ticks, diseases associated with
fleas and ticks, ringworm, mange, other skin conditions, and other injuries sustained from
handling animals
Volunteers must carry personal medical insurance for potential injuries. A copy of your insurance card is required.
