Nursing Student Contest April 2019
Nursing students at the Adelphi College of Nursing and Public Health are invited to participate in an essay contest titled "Including the Patient and Family in Patient Safety"

Essay must include innovative and unique ways to improve patient outcomes and patient safety by using the patient and / or their family members as members of the healthcare team. Must be 250 words or less and be submitted no later than April 15th at noon.

Winner needs to be present at the viewing of the film To Err is Human on April 30th at Adelphi to accept their prize. All information must be completed by April 15th at noon.
First Prize is $150 second prize is $100 from Pulse Patient Safety Education Fund

Definitions:
Patient: A person under health care. The person may be waiting for this care or may be receiving it.
Family: The person or people the patient chooses to support them in their care.
Patient Safety: The prevention of errors and adverse effects to patients associated with health care.
