Parents and caregivers represent a diverse group of people who all have a few things in common. They can play a significant role in suicide prevention. Knowing what to look for, how to intervene, and where to turn for information and resources are all important pieces in helping keep children safe and supported.

Developed by Forefront Suicide Prevention at the University of Washington, you will learn a five-step process to help you talk with someone you’re worried about, learn if they are considering suicide and take early steps to keep them safe.

Forefront in the Schools offers a comprehensive program that provides schools with a framework and tools to address youth suicide and suicidal behavior. Forefront in the Schools is a program of Forefront Suicide Prevention, a center of excellence at the UW School of Social Work.
