Please complete the following form to confirm your interest in the twirling program as part of the Marching Scarlet Knights. All current members of the MSK Twirling program must reapply via the below protocol each year.
All prospective twirling candidates must have previous twirling experience and training. Evaluation of the application and materials will be evaluated on baton and dance skills. Some of the essential skills required by applicants for the twirling line include the ability to do a toss illusion, at least three spins, 2 and 3 baton combinations, and advanced body work, showmanship, flexibility, and dance technique. Applicants for feature twirler must, in addition, be able to execute a double illusion, four or more spins, a variety of rolls, well-developed multiple baton skills, and flexibility. Gymnastic skills will be considered, but are not required. Those who do not meet these requirements are invited to join the MSK in an alternative section.
Complete this form as thoroughly as possible by February 15th, 2026.
Following the completion of this form, you must submit an audition video and supplemental materials listed below to
marchingscarletknights@gmail.com. The video must be completed and received by March 1st, 2026.
Required Supplemental Materials:
A cover letter stating your intent and reasons for applying
A current resume listing academic and twirling accomplishments, etc. Be sure to include contact information including phone number and email address for the applicant.
A color full-length photo in full competition/performance costume
A continuous, unedited routine to music of your choice that incorporates the twirling and dance skills listed above (no cuts or splicing).
Supplemental footage and clips may be placed AFTER the main routine. It is encouraged to include:
Competition performances (in costume)
On‑field performances (if available)
Pep rally performances (if available)
Gymnastic skills (optional)
Any additional clips that highlight your abilities
Finalists may be selected for a second audition round in mid‑March, and final decisions will be released by March 31st, 2026.
