Dear Artists and Visionaries,
We are excited to announce a special art project titled "We’re All In For People Ready Futures." This project seeks to envision and celebrate diverse futures where communities thrive through unity, understanding, and collaboration. Through your art, we invite you to explore themes of integration, diversity, resilience, and the collective journey toward building inclusive societies.
November 11th-17th, Berea Arts Council, 444 Chestnut St, Berea, KY
Special Pop-Up Gallery Event during the Brushy Fork Leadership Institute Annual Leadership Conference on Tuesday, November 12th, featuring a Dinner experience through local restaurants, details to follow.
Submission Guidelines:
Artistic Medium: All forms of visual art are welcome, including but not limited to painting, drawing, photography, and mixed media. Larger format pieces are welcome. If you are planning to submit any form of digital art, please reach out to us directly to ensure you are submitting the most usable format. If possible, all submissions need to be prepared and ready to hang. Please reach out if you will need support in preparing your art to hang/install.
Theme: This call for art invites you to envision a future for our region—a future where our communities are genuinely welcoming and inclusive, where our land thrives ecologically, where everyone's needs are met, and where we are collectively prepared for what lies ahead. What can you imagine?
Artwork should explore the question of What does a People Ready Future look like for my community? You might imagine themes related to inclusion, diversity, community resilience, and the vibrant celebration of cultural richness. Together, let's envision a future for Eastern Kentucky and Central Appalachia that embraces these ideals and inspires positive change.
Submission Deadline: Please fill out the Google form by August 30th, 2024, to let us know you want to submit your artwork for this show.
Where to Submit: Submissions will be dropped off at the Brushy Fork offices at the Loyal Jones Appalachian Center, 205 N Main St, Berea, KY, before November 4th during business hours. We may be able to help get your art on-site if transportation is an issue.
