2018 Youth Leadership Summit on Race
New Detroit will host its 12th Annual Youth Leadership Summit on Race for high school students grades 9-12 in metropolitan Detroit. The Summit will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the University of Michigan-Dearborn Kochoff Hall, 4901 Evergreen Rd., Dearborn, MI 48128. There is no cost to participants.

The purpose of this year’s Summit is to empower young people to become thought leaders about race in their schools and communities. Thought leaders are informed opinion leaders and go to people with innovative ideas. Students will hear presentations and engage in facilitated dialogue with other high school students throughout the region.

We invite you to select student leaders to represent your school at this year’s highly popular one day event.

• Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
• Community service hours are available for all students.
• PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. On-site registration on the day of the Summit is not permitted.
• The event is limited to 150 students

New Detroit’s mission: “a coalition of leaders working to achieve racial understanding and racial equity in Metropolitan Detroit.”
