The Volunteers for the first Hyperborea will help shape the way the Toronto Burner Community celebrates this event in the future. Here is an explanation for the various roles listed in the form below. Leads will be contacting you in early March. Yes, you can volunteer in more than one area! And Thank You so much for Volunteering!
Greeters - Welcome participants to the event and ensure they have an accurate understanding of what kind of event we are holding.
Gate - Responsible for operation of the entry point to the event, ensuring all people have tickets and sign waivers.
Parking - Responsible for ensuring that all vehicles have places to park and that entry to and exit from the event can happen smoothly. (
Leave No Trace (LNT) - Responsible for ensuring we leave the site without a trace. Works with DPW during and after the event.
Rangers - Walk the event to preserve the safety, welfare, and quality of experience of our community. (Must have completed Ranger Training, which will be offered before the event.)
First Aid- Help keep your fellow pARTicipants safe and provide first aid as necessary. (Standard First Aid Certification Required)
Sanctuary- Operating a quiet space for distressed or disoriented participants.
Fire Art Safety Team - Responsible for burning art - ensure that open fires and flame effects at the event are safe.
