9th & 10th Grade Religious Education Registration
Greetings High School Families!

Please see the below options for high school religious education for 2021-2022. If you have any questions about any of the options please do not hesitate to contact me at tommy.nelson@raphael.org.

OPTION 1: Camp Life Teen
Monday June 21-Thursday June 24 AND Tuesday June 28-Thursday July 1
1pm-5:30pm at St. Raphael

This 7 day immersive faith formation program for 9th and 10th graders takes the curriculum they would be working on in a traditional classroom setting and presents in a more retreat-like setting. Combining small group discussions, proclaimed witness talks, community building, and of course fun indoor and outdoor activities. All 7 days are required for attendance and students are encouraged to attend several AFTERSHOCK Youth Ministry nights throughout the school year to stay connected with the parish community. Space is limited.

OPTION 2: Weekly Faith Formation Sessions
Wednesdays at 8pm at St. Raphael
Starting September 15th-December 15 AND January 5-April 27
This weekly option of faith formation will be a more traditional delivery method of the curriculum while still challenging students to encounter the person of Jesus Christ in the course content and in the discussions. A day long retreat midway through the first semester will also be required. Saturday November 6th (10am-6pm)

OPTION 3: Monthly Families of Faith Sessions
Sundays once a month 3-5pm
As of August 2021, Families of Faith, an alternative to weekly class sessions, is being extended to high school. Respecting the role of parents as the primary catechists, this whole family approach to Faith Formation invites families together in community and seeks to support parents in their role as models of faith for their children. Whole families will attend sessions together and then will break off into parents and age appropriate groups for further formation. Parents will have the opportunity to grow in community with one another while diving deeper into the richness of our faith in order to better share that faith with their children. They then teach their children at home from a resource provided the other three weeks of the month.
