Liar and charlatan, or military genius? Agent of British imperialism, or advocate of Arab nationalism?
The debate about T E Lawrence has raged for a century. Now, following ten years’ fieldwork in the Arabian desert, Bristol University’s Neil Faulkner reassesses the man, evaluates his achievements, and offers new insight into the ongoing Middle Eastern crisis. Neil Faulkner is an archaeologist, historian, writer, lecturer, and broadcaster. The editor of Military History Monthly, co-director of several archaeological field projects, and author of ten books, he appears frequently on TV as both academic expert and political commentator.
Neil will be selling and signing copies of Lawrence of Arabia’s War (Yale University Press, £25) before and after the lecture.
