Well, not only are we costumers ourselves, but we love the energy cosplayers bring to events and to help increase the awareness of the work that goes into the costumes (aswell as to show all attendees how welcoming the community is) we have set aside a limited number of tables in the cosplay zone on the main floor of DCC Summer Edition this August 11th and 12th
Who can apply?
Any cosplayer/costumer/make up artist who has a portfolio/facebook page (or some link to a body of their work) not only wishes to promote cosplay/costuming in Ireland but also use it as an opportunity to promote their own work. You must be over 18 years of age to apply.
What is required of me?All we ask is that you be there to show off your work (or in the cosplay zone) for the majority of it as your table can not be left unattended and that you be willing to answer questions by attendees or even show off your skills, feel free to be making props or costume pieces (just don't dirty the lovely carpet :) )
How does it work?If you are successful you will be given a table and pass for either Saturday ( set up 8am to 9am Saturday) or Sunday (Saturday evening set up allowed between 6pm and 7pm or Sunday from 8am to 9am) where you may advertise your work, live stream, do mini tutorials, hand out cards, flyers, take commissions etc. The only restriction we have is that you can not sell items except for cosplay prints (ie not fan art). You may take interest lists, emails etc but any other type of selling must be done at an exhibitor stall or artist alley table and it would be unfair to allow sales from a table that is not one of the above. If you wish to have helpers they must buy their own ticket we are afraid.
Why only one day?Well, in anticipation of quite alot of applications we decided it would be best to split the days so that, lets say we have 5 tables, that means we can accommodate 10 cosplayers over the 2 days so that everyone gets a chance.
