Century Scholars Ambassador Visit Form
Century Scholars may choose to conduct ambassador visits to their former high schools. One (1) ambassador visit may account for five (5) community service hours, so long as the Century Scholar participated in Ambassador Training PRIOR to the ambassador visit. Once you have done the training, you will not need to do it again in the future; this means that if you have already completed the training, you don’t have to do it again.

Century Scholars are expected to confirm the ambassador visit with the high school at least two (2) weeks in
advance. They must also notify the Regional Prospective Student Center (PSC) about the ambassador visit in advance of the visit. The Century Scholars Program coordinators may follow-up with the high school contact and the PSC at their discretion. Contact information for the PSC may be found at http://admissions.tamu.edu/psc.

As a courtesy, Century Scholars must follow-up with the high school contact within a week after the visit to thank them for the opportunity to meet with their students. Additionally, students must follow-up with the PSC contact, if applicable, to thank them for the accompaniment on the ambassador visit.

In conducting an official Century Scholars ambassador visit, the Century Scholar accepts the following terms:
1. As an Ambassador, the Century Scholar is representing the Century Scholars Program and Texas A&M University.
2. The needs of the high school come first. The ambassador visit is conducted as a service for the high school. The Century Scholar should adapt to the needs of the high school, not their own personal needs.
3. The regional Prospective Student Centers are affected by ambassador visits. The PSC staff must be kept in the loop, as they ultimately have priority in visiting the high schools.
4. Conducting an ambassador visit is a privilege. This is an option that is offered in lieu of five (5) community service hours.
5. Abuse of this privilege or other negative behavior may result in a Century Scholar not being authorized to conduct future ambassador visits.

This document must be submitted online no later than May 7, 2017 for the spring 2017 semester. One form is due for each ambassador visit. If multiple Century Scholars participate in an ambassador visit, they are each responsible for completing and submitting their form.
