At the Academy, students learn to inspire Climate Change efforts, teaching one another about Climate Change through making presentations, planting trees, and participating in other activities as Ambassadors for Climate Justice. They learn the science of Climate Change, how to give a Climate presentation, tree planting, and and how they can engage their communities and make a difference for their future.
FREE to students ages 9 - 17 (4th - 12th grades). Includes meals (see above), t-shirt and the book "Tree By Tree".
At 1:00pm, parents will return for a student-led Climate presentation and celebrate students' graduation as new Ambassadors for Climate Justice. To learn more, watch "Now We Children Save the World" on YouTube: http://bit.ly/CCR-CCfF-PftP-Save-the-World
The day centers on learning about Climate Change from other students through a slide presentation and discussions, working on the ability to speak with knowledge and authority about Climate Change, and practicing sharing that presentation with other students and adults. We will be planting a tree and using a game and brainstorming to enable students to take action. Learning how to present, plant trees, and encourage others to act on Climate Change are central to the Academy experience.
If you would like to volunteer as an Adult or Ambassador, including if you are a parent of a student attending the Academy, please register at: http://bit.ly/CCR-Apr17-2016-Reg-Volunteers
