Preliminary Allocations
Each year the Incidental Fee Committee makes a decision on how much money they would like to allocate to the various IFC funded areas. Due to COVID-19 and the very different circumstances we are currently in, the IFC has been presented budgets that are 50% of what they would be in a regular year. These options are significantly less than they have been in the past, however, they can still allow us to have our services and keep our staff and student jobs. These options are only for Spring Term 2021.
Abby's House/Food Pantry: $5,485.00  (100% of their ask) *
Abby’s House is a resource and referral center available to persons of any gender. They offer resources and referrals for a large variety of issues. You can come here if you need help for yourself, a family member, or friend. Abby’s House mission is to provide the WOU community with educational programming, information, and referral services designed to promote equity and non-violence. The embrace a feminist model that empowers all people to actively stand against all forms of violence, harassment, verbal abuse, discrimination, and hatred.

Funding required to ensure IFC funded areas are accessible to people with disabilities
ASWOU:  $67,670.00  ( 100% of their ask) *
ASWOU is the official student government body of Western Oregon University (WOU). This organization is designed to encompass all of the students at WOU. The student government is tasked with advocating for students’ rights to the WOU administration as well as the state of Oregon and the nation.
Athletics: $0 *
Athletics requested their budget for Winter and Spring 2021 during the Fall 2020 IFC hearings. Due to already receiving their Spring allocation during Winter term, their ask is $0.
Campus Recreation: $188,960.00   ( 100% of their ask + $5,436 for fulltime staffing) *
IFC funds for campus recreation go to Virtual Live fitness classes, M-RIGTV Live, FLEX, Fitness on Demand, fitness equipment, IM sports, club sports, esports, and the upkeep and operations of the Health and Wellness Center.  
Childcare: $10,082.00 ( 100% of their ask) *
The Western Oregon University Child Development Center (CDC) serves families with children 18 months to 5th grade.  We are located at the northwest corner of Monmouth Avenue and Stadium Drive, right behind Campus Public Safety.  Our new home has larger classrooms, more student restrooms, a great lobby to welcome families and a huge, fenced backyard with grass and trees. Our goal is to partner with parents to prepare our young Wolf Pups for Kindergarten and beyond.
Computer Replacement: $2,541.67 (25% of their yearly budget) *
Budgeted for routine upkeep and replacement of computers across campus.
Creative Arts: $45,839.00  (100% of their ask) *
Creative Arts works to provide a diverse array of arts related activities (Theatre, Music, Dance,Visual Art and Guest Artists) for Western Oregon University students and the campus community at large.Providing arts activities for students is a core expectation of campus life for many students considering a liberal arts education. Their budget includes funding for music ensemble, broadway, opera, guest artists, dance theatre, theatre, summer theatre, and the art galleries across campus.

Student Engagement SEO 901: $217,625 (100% of their ask) *
SEO 903 is more commonly known as the office of Student Engagement. The fosters learning, development and leadership experiences to empower students to be curious, passionate and engaged individuals, while cultivating welcoming spaces that encourage a more inclusive, informed and involved community. This office provides social programs for students, student support services, Club and Organization advising, and remote information desk services.
Student Engagement SEO 902: $9,710 (100% of their ask) *
SEO 902 is a part of Student Engagement that does on campus and virtual programming including a trivia series, focus on leadership events, family weekend, prep week programming, and other events.
Student Engagement SEO 903: $10,099 (100% of their ask) *
SEO 903 is more commonly known as The Student Activities Board (SAB). SAB impacts student involvement, success, and school spirit at Western Oregon University by developing quality events that engage and benefit its diverse community. SAB is an activities board that organizes high-quality events for the entire student body at Western Oregon University.
Student Media: $18,761.00 (100% of their ask) *
Student Media is student-funded through IFC funds. We have a weekly newspaper (through the school year) called The Western Howl. A internet radio station called KWOU and a literary publication called The Northwest Passage.
WOLF Ride: $7,034 (100% of their ask) *
 WOU’s Safe Ride program is to provide a complimentary and reliable shuttle service to students of Western Oregon University who would otherwise walk alone at night and risk their safety or possible assault. WOLF Ride provides a safer environment for all students by increasing public awareness of our services and the dangers of assault. WOLF Ride is fully funded by incidental fees. The WOLF Ride program is administered by the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs.
The Fee

Due to COVID-19 and the very different circumstances we are currently in, the IFC has decided to bring two options for the fee amount to the student body for feedback. These options are significantly less than they have been in the past, however, they can still allow us to have our services and keep our staff and student jobs. These options are only for Spring Term 2021.
