I didn’t plan to be a runaway bride.

But, standing in the church wearing white and borrowed blue, I realized I didn’t have a choice.

I had to start over.

Even if it meant living—and working—a stone’s throw from the man who doesn’t know he broke my heart a decade ago.

So I stuffed my tulle and tears behind the wheel of a borrowed car, mascara tracking down my cheeks as I made the drive to Willow Bend, Wyoming.

I thought I could handle having Tobias in my life again. Believed after everything I’d gone though, the last thing I’d want is a man’s attention.

But from the second he storms into my office, dark eyes fusing to where I stand, I know I’m screwed. All the feelings I tried running from are still just as close as they ever were. Just as real.

Just as raw.

But feelings aren’t the only thing chasing me.

The dangers of my past are barreling down, hot and angry. Ready to punish me by taking away the only person who’s ever really mattered. The only person who wants me just as I am. The person who will do anything to protect me.
