Notice of Collection & Use of Personal Information
Office of International Affairs of University of Seoul offers various programs to all international students including Exchange Student program, Visiting Student program, International Summer and Winter School. In accordance with Article 15, Article 17 and Article 22 of Personal Information Protection Act and Article 73 of Higher Education Act.
University of Seoul may collect and use the personal information collected to provide students with academic/administrative support service during the program. Please read below for further details about how University of Seoul may collect and use your personal information. All collected and processed information is protected under 『Protection of Personal Information Act』. If you fully understand this agreement, please grant your consent to University of Seoul to collect and use your personal information.
Personal Information to be Collected and Used: Email, Password, Full Name (in English), Date of Birth, Gender, Nationality, Resident Registration Number, Passport Number, Date of Expiry of Passport, GPA, Home University Information (Student ID, Major, Year), Address, Contact, Financial Status, Home University Contact
Purpose of Collection and use of Personal information: Admission to University of Seoul / Management of Academic Record, GPA
Period of Use and Retention of Personal Information: Duration of Academic Record Retention

B. Agreement to Collect and Use Unique Identifying Information (Required)
In the pursuit of admission to International Programs at University of Seoul and the management of academic records at University of Seoul, University of Seoul shall collect and use the personal identification information.
Personal Information to be disclosed: Resident Registration Number (Only if the granter is Korean national), Passport Number
Right to Refuse Provision: You have the right to reject to give your information However, if you do not provide above information items, you may not be eligible to retrieve account information in case of loss.
※ Note: In accordance with Article 15 Clause 1 Paragraph 2 of the Personal Information Protection Act, collected personal information (Resident Registration Number) may be used without the consent of the data subject for the purpose of academic services.

C. Agreement to Collect and Use Optional Items of Personal Information (Required)
Personal Information to be Collected and Used: Formal University of Seoul Student ID, University of Seoul Student/Faculty ID of family member, Dietary Restrictions
Purpose of Collection and use of Personal information: Provision of Scholarship or personalized supports
Period of Use and Retention of Personal Information: Duration of Academic Record Retention
Right to Refuse Provision: You have the right to reject to give your information. However, if you do not provide above information items, you may not be eligible for scholarships and/or other forms of student support.
I agree to the collection and usage of your personal information for the purposes stated above.
D. Agreement to Use Personal Information for Marketing and Advertisement (Required)
University of Seoul intends to process and retain personal information for the purpose of Marketing and Advertisement of its international programs.
Personal Information to be processed: Email
Purpose of use of Personal information: Marketing and Advertisement of University of Seoul International Programs
Period of Use and Retention of Personal Information: 3 years
Right to Refuse Consent: You have the right to reject to give your consent. However, if you do not agree, you may not receive promotional emails, newsletters and or other forms of marketing materials of University of Seoul International Programs.
E. Agreement to Media and Publicity Release (Required)
University of Seoul may take photographs and/or videos of participants of its international programs during the period of the program. During or after the program University of Seoul shall reproduce the photographs and/or video images taken for the purpose of publication, promotion, illustration, advertising, or trade, in any manner or in any medium without any compensation. University of Seoul shall also use the statements that were given during an interview or guest lecture, with or without a name, for the purpose of advertising and publicity without restriction without any compensation.

Purpose of use of Personal information: Marketing and Advertisement of University of Seoul International Programs
Period of Use and Retention of Personal Information: Semi-Permanent
Right to Refuse Consent: You have the right to reject to give your consent. However, if you do not agree, you may be limited to participate/attend in events and/or activities organized by University of Seoul during the program.
F. Agreement to Provision of Personal Information to a Third Party (Required)In the pursuit of management and operation of University of Seoul Buddy Programs, University of Seoul shall provide below personal information items to University of Seoul local students who participates as Buddy.
Personal Information to be provided: Name, Gender, University of Seoul Student ID Number, Field of Study, Mobile phone number, Email
Purpose of provision of Personal information: Operation of University of Seoul Buddy Programs
Period of Processing and Retention of Personal Information: Duration of the program
Right to Refuse Provision: You have the right to reject to give your personal information. However, if you do not provide, you may be limited to participate in University of Seoul Buddy Programs.
