Sessions are offered with Yoni Kallai, play:groundNYC’s head playworker, and founding board member. In addition to his three years of playwork training and experience, Yoni also draws upon his circus training and skills (from partner acrobatics, through performance and all the way to rigging), his experience in construction work, computer engineering, bomb disposal, peace activism and more. But beyond all of that he draws on being a child at heart, listening, observing, being optimistic and believing that all people are born good, smart and able to learn and grow far beyond what modern day society tells us. Yoni is fluent in English and Hebrew and can communicate on a basic level of spoken Arabic.
These sessions are geared towards young people age 2-18; for those who can’t get enough of the playground or those who are interested in testing it out in a calmer setting, for those who just can’t make it out to The Yard on the weekends or simply hate the crowds; for young people with varying needs, abilities, urges, desires and motivations. These sessions are for all children.
