Summer Search Boston Student Persistence Fund
Summer  Search  is  committed  to  helping  students  persist  through  college  and  beyond.  Often,  a  student’s  academic  career  can  be  interrupted  by  an  unforeseen  financial  emergency.  In  these  instances,  Summer  Search will work to remove any barriers that threaten a student’s degree completion.

Established with a generous donation from Loomis Sayles, the Student Persistence Fund will provide limited financial support to college students who are unable to persist due to a temporary or unexpected hardship. College-related  expenses  covered  by  the  fund  will  include  textbooks,  fees,  travel  (for  campus  visits,  orientation, etc.) or other gaps in financial coverage. Applications will be reviewed and decisions will be made on an individual basis. Awards will not generally exceed $500. However, Summer Search will review requests with unique and unusual circumstances that exceed that amount.

Eligibility
Any Summer Search student, currently enrolled in a degree completion program, may apply for funding. Additionally, students must:
•Demonstrate financial hardship
•Demonstrate an attempt to secure funding through other avenues, including their institution, scholarships, work-study, etc.
•Clarify the status and/or amount of any existing funding they are receiving
•Complete the Student Persistence Fund application

Application Process
•Student completes and submits application as soon as possible, including documentation of their need
•Director will respond within 48 hours with decision
•If approved, payments for textbooks, fees, etc. can be made immediately using the Summer Search credit card.

Payments made directly to students may require additional time for processing.
