The Vocation of Parents
"Parents should teach their children to pray by praying with them from their earliest years. Parents, as the first and primary educators, must also ensure their children's Catholic religious education and regular participation in Mass and other aspects of parish life. Sharing with them the lives of the saints, bringing them to church, helping them to participate in Mass, and encouraging them to go to Confession are necessary ways to help children grow in faith...Parental example in all these areas is essential, for the young need to see a living faith in those they love." (US Catechism for Adults, 378)
I have read the above statement and commit to the following:
I will ensure my child attends the entire Mass on a weekly basis. If we can only attend the 9 am Mass and my child attends Sunday RE, my child will stay in Mass and attend RE late without penalty.
I will pray with my child and use any take home activities provided.
I understand that parish children's formation programs are supplementary to learning about faith in the family.
I understand that St. Catherine of Siena will gladly provide any guidance requested to help parents.
I understand that adults in my family must volunteer for at least one opportunity listed on
. *Registration forms will not be accepted as complete until a sign up has been completed. This will include eligibility for the early tuition discount.*
