Tuberculosis (TB) Exposure Control Quiz

Purpose and Goal

NKY Health is committed to providing a safe workplace for all employees and visitors.

To that end, all employees receive initial training about NKY Health’s Tuberculosis (TB) Exposure Control plan and annual refresher training thereafter. All supplemental staff receive annual traiing about the same.

The goal of this form is to confirm that training occurred and affirm understanding of the concepts and related policies.


Definitions

  • Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease caused by the bacteria called “Mycobacterium tuberculosis.”

  • Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI) is when healthy immune systems are able to stop the growth and cause the bacteria to become inactive.

  • Multidrug-Resistant TB (MDR-TB) is TB bacteria that is resistant (or not sensitive) to one or more of the drugs used to treat TB.
